The end of November and December were largely dedicated to concerts with singers, marking a busy and rewarding period. The season began on St Cecilia’s Day (22nd November) with Celebrating Female Composers, a collaboration between the Jesuits’ Church Foundation and Opera Nova. Julia accompanied the singers of Opera Nova in works by Barbara Strozzi, Fanny Hensel née Mendelssohn, and Amy Beach, and took part in the premiere of Leħinha (Her Voice), a song cycle by Maltese composer Analise Mifsud, specially commissioned for the occasion.

Another November highlight was a Christmas concert at St Mark’s Church in Rabat, where Julia performed with mezzo-soprano Francesca Buhagiar in a programme of Christmas favourites and Peter Cornelius’ Christmas Songs, Op. 8.

In December, Julia appeared in two concerts at Spazju Kreattiv. The first, with Opera Nova, featured French arias and songs and concluded the ensemble’s first term. The second saw Julia performing with KorMalta in their Christmas concert, presenting a selection from Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols.

This period further strengthened Julia’s work as a piano collaborator, particularly in vocal repertoire.
